New Delhi: IPS officer Pankaj Kumar Singh has been appointed the new Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Singh is an officer of the 2008-batch, from the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre. He is currently serving as the Director of the Department of Youth Affairs under the central staffing scheme.
The tenure of his current post has been cut short due to his posting in CBI through a lateral shift basis. He will be serving as the DIG for five years, till December 5, 2026.
He was granted proforma promotion in the year 2021, to the rank of DIG/Additional Commissioner of Police (Adds. CP), in his cadre.
