New Delhi: Apple achieved its highest-ever quarterly iPhone shipments in India, delivering over 2.5 million units with a 34% year-over-year growth, largely driven by increased consumer demand for premium products and attractive financing offers.
The growth is expected to continue in the upcoming quarters, especially with the strong start during the festival season when iPhone sales crossed 1.5 million units for the first time.
This growth comes as the Indian smartphone market shows signs of recovery, with 5G smartphone shipments reaching 53%, and the ultra-premium segment growing 44% year-over-year.
Samsung maintained its market leadership with a 17.2% market share, followed by Xiaomi at 16.6% and vivo at 15.9%. OnePlus took the lead in the affordable premium segment with a 29% share, and Transsion phones saw the fastest growth at 41% year-over-year.
The launch of JioBharat phones at Rs 999 boosted the share of 4G feature phones to 32% in the overall feature phone shipments for Q3 2023.
