Gandhinagar: Global technology leader Cisco has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the New Age Makers Institute of Technology (NAMTech), an initiative by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India).
The collaboration aims to develop specialised academic programs focused on cybersecurity, networking, and artificial intelligence (AI) experiential learning for the manufacturing industry.
Formalised at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar, the initiative responds to the pressing need for skilled professionals, particularly within manufacturing entities striving to expedite digital transformation through Industry 4.0 technologies.
As part of the collaboration, Cisco’s cutting-edge training modules will be integrated into NAMTECH’s existing programs, including the International Professional Masters Program (iPMP) and the upcoming International Professional Technologists Program (iPTP). The partnership also entails training learners in Cisco’s cyber range and smart city solutions.
The agreement seeks to create a talent pipeline comprising over 5,000 engineers and technicians within the next five years. NAMTECH aims to establish an industry-grade cybersecurity centre of excellence in Gujarat, with this collaboration marking a significant stride toward that goal. Furthermore, the partnership with Cisco provides career opportunities within Cisco and its partner ecosystem.
