Hyderabad: Aerospace and defence manufacturing startup, Jeh Aerospace, recently opened a cutting-edge facility in Hyderabad. The space, scalable up to 1.60 lakh sq.ft., was inaugurated by Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu.
The newly unveiled facility incorporates contemporary digital and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, placing it in direct competition with established centres of aerospace and defence manufacturing in the United States (U.S.) and Western Europe, according to a press release from the firm.
Minister D. Sridhar Babu stated, “Our government is resolute in supporting disruptive technologies, particularly in information technology (IT) and critical defence elements.” The Minister expressed confidence that the facility would significantly contribute to the economic growth of Telangana while generating ample employment opportunities.
Jeh Aerospace recently secured $2.75 million in seed funding from global venture capital (VC) firm General Catalyst, along with contributions from industry veterans, including former Boeing India President Pratyush Kumar, and former CEO and MD of Airbus India Srinivasan Dwarakanath. The startup plans to utilise the funding to develop infrastructure, fuel growth, and assemble a world-class team.
Co-founders Vishal Sanghavi and Venkatesh Mudragalla described the facility’s opening as the initiation of a collective journey to redefine the landscape of aerospace manufacturing. Jayesh Ranjan, the Secretary for Industries and IT, emphasised that Jeh Aerospace’s emphasis on crucial accessories and components directly tackles a significant industry need.
