Noida: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has greenlit an extension of the Aqua Line corridor, aiming to enhance connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida. The revised detailed project report (DPR) received approval, outlining plans for 11 new stations stretching from Sector 51 in Noida to Knowledge Park V in Greater Noida.
Additionally, an interchange station at Sector 61 will allow commuters to seamlessly switch between the Aqua Line and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) Blue Line. The extension aims to enhance connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida West, Greater Noida, and Delhi. This extension is expected to further reduce travel time and alleviate congestion along routes such as Vikas Marg and Noida-Greater Noida Link Road.
The proposed stations include Noida Sector 51, Noida Sector 61, Noida Sector 70, Noida Sector 122, Noida Sector 123, Greater Noida Sector 4, EcoTech 12, Greater Noida Sector 2, Greater Noida Sector 3, Greater Noida Sector 10, Greater Noida Sector 12, and Greater Noida Knowledge Park V. The estimated cost for this 17.43-kilometre extension is Rs 2,991.60 crore.
The revised DPR has been submitted to the Noida Authority for feedback and approval. Upon approval, it will proceed to the Uttar Pradesh government for further review and clearance by the Centre.
