New Delhi: Sridhar Ramaswamy, an alumnus of IIT Madras, has been appointed as the new CEO of Snowflake, a US-based data cloud company, the firm announced. He succeeds Frank Slootman, who has retired but will remain Chairman of the Board.
Ramaswamy, an Indian-origin computer scientist, expressed his excitement for this new phase in a LinkedIn post. Before joining Snowflake, he co-founded Neeva, an ad-free search engine, which was acquired by Snowflake in 2023.
Ramaswamy, born in Tamil Nadu in 1967, moved to the US in 1989 after graduating from IIT Madras. Ramaswamy’s career includes roles at Google, where he led various advertising products. His appointment as CEO comes as a continuation of his role as Senior Vice President of AI at Snowflake.
