New Delhi: IAS officer Geetika Sharma has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, after being recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Sharma is a 2012 batch officer from the AGMUT cadre.
An order was issued from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which specified that Sharma was selected to serve in this post under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a four-year term, from the day of assuming office or until further orders. The DoPT requested immediate release from her duties so that she could assume her new assignment in the Ministry of Mines.
Sharma has previously served as the Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Mines. She has also held positions as the Deputy Commissioner for the North East District, with additional charge as the General Manager of the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC).
