Vijayawada: IPS officer Harish Kumar Gupta is the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh. He is replacing IPS officer KV Rajendranath Reddy.
The 1992-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer has been selected for this post after being shortlisted out of three candidates. APSRTC MD IPS Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao and IPS Madireddy Pratap were the remaining two candidates shortlisted for the DGP position.
Gupta has previously served as the Principal Secretary of the Home Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, as well as the Principal Secretary to the Government of AP.
