New Delhi: Ramesh Babu V has been sworn in as a Member of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC). Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, RK Singh, administered the oath.
Ramesh Babu previously served as the Director of Operations at NTPC Limited from May 2020 until his retirement. He served at NTPC for over 33 years, managing large power stations and specialising in operations, maintenance, renovation, modernisation, and efficiency improvements of thermal plants. He holds an M Tech in Thermal Engineering and a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
The CERC was established under the Electricity Regulatory Commissions Act, 1998. It operates under the Electricity Act, 2003, and includes a Chairperson and three Members, with the Chairperson of the Central Electricity Authority serving as an ex-officio Member.
