New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Salim G Purushotham for the role of Director (Operations) at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL). He is currently serving as Executive Director at Braithwaite & Co. Ltd.
A selection process took place with 12 candidates, including six from RINL, two from SAIL, and one each from Braithwaite & Co. Ltd., NTPC Limited, Central Coalfields Ltd., and Indian Ordnance Factories Service. His appointment will be confirmed after the final outcome of a writ petition WP No. 26646 of 2023 in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
The selection meeting was held on October 11, 2023, but the decision was delayed due to an interim court order. The PESB, following legal advice, reconvened on May 21, 2024, to finalise their recommendation.
RINL is a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel.
