Bengaluru: Gleneagles BGS Hospital has introduced 5G-enabled ambulance service in Kengeri, Karnataka. Through the use of cutting-edge technology, this initiative seeks to improve emergency medical response. It is claimed to be South India’s first 5G-enabled ambulance service.
Developed in collaboration with Medulance, these ambulances make use of Reliance Jio’s high-speed internet to facilitate real-time audio and video communication. They have smart devices, cameras, and Advanced Life Support (ALS) systems for emergency medical procedures.
Five ambulances with 5G capabilities will first be in service in the hospital’s local vicinity. With the objective of enhancing emergency response capabilities throughout the region, the subsequent phase will entail the deployment of an additional five ambulances to cover neighbouring districts. The ambulances provide location tracking for effective dispatch, remote monitoring to support paramedics during transport, and streaming of patient health data to doctors who are located far away.
