Gurugram: Toshiba JSW Power Systems (also known as Toshiba JSW), a partnership between Japan’s Toshiba Group and India’s JSW Group, announced that Daisuke Murata will be its new managing director.
In 1994, Murata joined Toshiba Group after earning a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Tokyo. He spent thirty years working on the engineering and production of huge equipment for the power industry. Afterwards, he was in charge of business development using new technologies. During this time, he acquired expertise and experience in the production planning and control of the turbine and generator, design and procurement of the generator, technical leadership and management of new businesses, and the application of new technology, including the heavy ion therapy system and superconducting.
In 2020, Toshiba JSW’s parent company, Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation (Toshiba ESS), appointed Murata as a technology executive at Keihin Factory. Murata was named head of Toshiba ESS’s new business unit in the Power System Division in 2021.
