New Delhi: Manoj Kumar Dubey has been appointed to the esteemed position of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) at the Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. (IRFC). He is presently serving as Director (Finance) at Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR). Dubey is a 1993-batch Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer.
Dubey’s candidacy was unanimously approved by the Search Cum Selection Committee (SCSC) during its meeting on Tuesday. Shelly Verma, Director (Finance), IRFC, has been the interim CMD for the past two years, as the position of CMD at IRFC has been occupied on an ad-hoc basis. Dubey’s appointment is currently awaiting ultimate approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Upon that approval, he is anticipated to assume office and apply his extensive financial expertise to the strategic initiatives of IRFC.
Established in 1986, IRFC is the dedicated funding arm of Indian Railways. It is responsible for mobilizing funds from both domestic and international markets to satisfy the substantial funding requirements of the railway sector. The Ministry of Railways, Government of India, administers the corporation as a Schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Enterprise.
