Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government announced a major reshuffle of IAS officers. IAS Dheeraj Kumar has been appointed as the Government, Home, Prohibition, and Excise Department’s Additional Chief Secretary. IAS P Amudha previously held the position and has now been appointed Principal Secretary to the Government, Revenue, and Disaster Management Department.
It is worth noting that these transfers were among those mandated by the authorities following the Kallakurichi liquor catastrophe and the death of Dalit Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader K Armstrong. J Radhakrishnan, Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation, was also transferred and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Cooperation, Food, and Consumer Protection Department. J Kumaragurubaran will now assume Radhakrishnan’s role.
Other key transfers include:
- IAS S Madumathi as Secretary, School Education.
- IAS K Gopal as Additional Chief Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries.
- IAS Har Sahay Meena as Principal Secretary, Special Initiatives.
- IAS Veera Raghava Rao as Secretary, Labour Welfare and Skill Development
