Bengaluru: LinkedIn, a Microsoft-owned professional networking site has announced the appointment of long-time executive Kumaresh Pattabiraman as the India manager and product head. Pattabiraman will replace Ashutosh Gupta who left LinkedIn India in April after an 11-year tenure. Gupta has become an operational partner of Avataar Venture Partners, a growth-stage venture finance firm.
In July 2013, Pattabiraman started working at LinkedIn as a group product manager for the search and discovery division. According to the company, in his following responsibilities, he has been instrumental in elevating products like Feed and Search and introducing new ones like Career Breaks and Profile Videos, all of which have improved the company’s member experience. He has worked in engineering and product roles for more than 15 years.
With more than 135 million members, India is the second-biggest LinkedIn market after the US. LinkedIn has more than a billion users worldwide. For the fiscal year 2023, the corporation reported revenue of approximately $15 billion.
