New Delhi: The Centre has appointed Andra Vamsi as the Private Secretary to the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar. According to an official notice issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, Vamsi will serve at the Deputy Secretary level for a five-year term. He will assume the charge on a co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever earlier.
Vamsi is an Indian Administrative Service Officer of the 2011 batch belonging to the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He did his BTech in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, Hyderabad in 2006 and went on to work as a software engineer. He joined the Income Tax Department as Assistant Commissioner in 2008 and cleared the civil services examination in 2011.
Vamsi has since held various important positions including the post of Director of Skill Development Mission in Lucknow and District Magistrate of Jhansi.
