Pune: Mastercard has opened a new Tech Hub in Pune, aiming to strengthen its technology operations worldwide. Located at Bluegrass Business Park in Yerwada, the facility will bring together over 6,000 experts, making it the company’s largest workforce in any one city.
This new hub will focus on key areas like payment security, cybersecurity, and digital identity. It builds on Mastercard’s presence in India, where the company set up its first tech center in Pune back in 2014.
Ed McLaughlin, Mastercard’s President and CTO, said the Pune hub will be a big part of their global tech strategy, working with teams from around the world to drive innovation.
The new center also ties into India’s broader push for a more advanced digital economy by 2047. Mastercard’s local team will support initiatives like secure online payments and digital identity services.
According to Gautam Aggarwal, Mastercard’s Division President for South Asia, this expansion highlights the company’s commitment to India’s growing digital market.
