Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government has allocated additional responsibilities to two senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, Mohammed Hanish APM and K.S. Srinivas, as per an official notification.
IAS Mohammed Hanish APM, a 1996-batch officer, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs Department while continuing as Principal Secretary, Industries Department. With a distinguished career spanning multiple key roles, he has served as District Collector, Director of School Education, and Managing Director of the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation. He also holds positions such as Managing Director of Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) and Kochi Smart City. Known for his expertise in infrastructure and urban development, he has contributed significantly to Kerala’s public transportation and civil supplies sectors.
Meanwhile, IAS K.S. Srinivas, a 1997-batch officer, has taken on additional responsibilities as Secretary for the Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Museum (Zoo) Departments. He is presently the Principal Secretary of the Fisheries Department. Srinivas, an engineering graduate and alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata, brings a wealth of experience from his diverse roles, including Sub-Collector of Fort Kochi, District Collector of Kannur and Palakkad, and Managing Director of Malabar Cements. Srinivas also previously served as the Chairman of the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) and as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture. His tenure at MPEDA was marked by initiatives to boost marine product exports.
The additional assignments underscore the government’s confidence in their leadership, aiming to strengthen key sectors like sports, youth development, fisheries, and animal husbandry for Kerala’s holistic growth.
