New Delhi: In an effort to strengthen technological collaboration, Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh extended an invitation to Israeli startups to participate in its ambitious National Quantum Mission (NQM). The invitation was extended during the India-Israel Innovation Meet, which showcased both nations’ commitment to deepening their strategic and technological partnership. Officials highlighted the immense potential for collaboration, particularly in fields such as quantum computing, encryption, and sensing technologies. The initiative is aimed at fostering innovation in quantum technologies, a critical area for advancing national and global scientific capabilities.
India’s National Quantum Mission, launched earlier this year, focuses on developing quantum-based applications across diverse sectors, including healthcare, security, energy, and communications. The mission envisions India becoming a global leader in quantum technologies by 2031 through focused research, infrastructure development, and collaborative efforts with global innovators.
Singh underlined the critical role that Israeli startups could play in this initiative. He emphasized that Israel’s robust ecosystem for innovation and its expertise in advanced technology make it a valuable partner. Collaborations under the NQM would involve joint research projects, technology development, and knowledge sharing to accelerate progress in quantum science.
Israeli officials expressed interest in the initiative, noting their country’s readiness to contribute to quantum research and innovation. They highlighted the success of existing India-Israel partnerships, particularly in areas like agriculture, defense, and water management, and emphasized their confidence in extending this collaboration to quantum technologies.
This move comes as part of India’s broader strategy to enhance international cooperation in emerging technologies, recognizing their transformative potential for economic and strategic growth.
