New Delhi: In a historic moment, Rekha Gupta, a first-time MLA from Shalimar Bagh, took oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi today. This marks the party’s return to power in the national capital after 27 years. The grand oath-taking ceremony was held at Ramlila Maidan, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Other notable leaders present included Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan; Union Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh; Union Health Minister, JP Nadda; senior BJP leader Vasundhara Raje; BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj; Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav; Haryana CM, Nayab Singh Saini; Andhra Pradesh CM, N. Chandrababu Naidu; CM of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis; Deputy CM, Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde; CM of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma; Deputy CMs of Rajasthan, Prem Chand Bairwa and Diya Kumari; and Rajya Sabha MP from AAP, Swati Maliwal.

With this, Rekha Gupta has become the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi after Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit, and Atishi. She secured her Shalimar Bagh seat in the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections with a resounding victory, defeating her Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rival Bandana Kumari by over 29,000 votes.
Alongside Gupta, six ministers took oath as part of her Council of Ministers:

Kapil Mishra
Ravinder Indraj
A former Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) president and municipal councillor, Gupta was chosen as the leader of the House in the Delhi Assembly during the BJP legislative party meeting on Wednesday evening.
Besides being Delhi’s fourth woman Chief Minister, Gupta is also the fourth BJP Chief Minister in the state after Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma, and Sushma Swaraj. She is now the only incumbent woman Chief Minister in any BJP-ruled state.
