Hyderabad: Bartronics India Limited, a financial inclusion and rural fintech infrastructure provider, is set to enter into a long-term Service Level Agreement with Maharashtra Gramin Bank.
The move aims to expand and strengthen the bank’s banking correspondent and customer outreach network across its operational regions.
Long-standing Partnership
Over the past seven years, Bartronics has supported the bank’s financial inclusion initiatives by enabling account opening, transaction-led engagement, and onboarding of customers under government and social security schemes. These services have been delivered through a secure, technology-enabled correspondent network operating across rural and semi-urban areas.
At present, Bartronics manages around 350 banking touchpoints for Maharashtra Gramin Bank, helping extend access to formal banking services in underserved regions.
Planned Network Expansion
Under the renewed engagement, Bartronics plans to scale the correspondent network from approximately 350 to nearly 600 touchpoints in a phased manner. The expansion includes the addition of about 250 new customer service points, with a strong focus on improving last-mile banking penetration across rural Maharashtra.
The expanded network is expected to generate cumulative revenues of around Rs 30 crore over the next five years, subject to transaction volumes and service adoption levels.
Employment and Local Impact
The programme is also expected to create employment opportunities through the onboarding of local CSP agents, supervisors and field-level support staff. Officials said this would strengthen local entrepreneurship, support livelihoods, and improve access to banking services at the grassroots level.
Range of Financial Services
As part of the agreement, Bartronics will continue to support Maharashtra Gramin Bank’s financial inclusion and customer outreach goals. The company will facilitate services such as account opening, cash deposits and withdrawals, fund transfers, remittances, Aadhaar-enabled payment services, enrollment under government and social security schemes, and financial literacy initiatives for rural communities.
