New Delhi: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in research, education, training and technology support for defence and internal security.
The agreement was signed in New Delhi by Dr Chandrika Kaushik, Distinguished Scientist and DRDO Director General (Production Coordination and Services Interaction) and RRU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Bimal N. Patel, in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The MoU aims to enhance India’s self-reliance in defence and internal security technologies, aligning with the national vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the Amrit Kaal framework.
It formalises joint initiatives in research projects, PhD and fellowship programmes, and specialised training for security personnel.
The partnership will also focus on emerging operational challenges, technology gap analysis, future requirement forecasting, and life-cycle management of DRDO-developed systems inducted into the Central Armed Police Forces and other agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Both organisations highlighted that integrating technology, knowledge, and operational insight through this collaboration will strengthen national security preparedness and bolster India’s strategic autonomy in internal security.
