New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced key bureaucratic appointments, placing senior officers including IAS Mannan Akhtar and IRS-IT Shilpi Chopda in crucial government roles.
Mannan Akhtar Appointed Commissioner in DDA
IAS Mannan Akhtar, a 2011-batch officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Commissioner (LD) in the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). He will serve at the Director level under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for five years or until further orders.
The move comes as part of administrative reshuffling within key urban planning and governance bodies. The DDA plays a vital role in Delhi’s urban development, and Akhtar’s appointment is expected to align with ongoing policy initiatives in the sector.
Shilpi Chopda Joins Defence Ministry as Deputy Secretary
IRS-IT Shilpi Chopda, an officer from the 2015 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence on central deputation. She will serve in the role for four years.
Chopda’s assignment is part of the broader effort to bring expertise from various services into defence administration. The ministry oversees crucial national security matters, defence procurement, and strategic policies, making her role significant in shaping policy execution.
These appointments are part of the government’s administrative restructuring to strengthen governance in key departments.
