Gangtok: The Sikkim Health Department has launched a round-the-clock emergency helpline system to boost medical support access among the general public.
This helpline will provide an immediate and reliable communication channel between the public and the Sikkim health department. It will provide quick access to medical support and information.
The Health Department helpline numbers are 9002433135 and 9749341334. These numbers can be called 24×7, and officials of the control room will take action depending on the issue reported.
The issue could range from a hospital emergency, an accident or a natural disaster. The team will be ready to respond to any of these issues.
The team members are stationed with mobile phones and CCTV facilities to track issues as abd when they arise. They will act fast and improve everything from cleanliness, water supply and emergency services in hospitals.
The information will be shared about district hospitals, community health centres, primary health centres and sub-centres. The service will be available for all citizens from cities to the remotest villages.
Each citizen will know where their nearby hospital is, what all services are available and how to get help during an emergency. This will make Sikkim’s health services more responsive and people-friendly.
