Mumbai: In a significant development, Sunil Gupta has been appointed as the Director (Operation and Commercial) of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) on an immediate absorption basis.
His appointment is expected to bolster the operational and commercial strategies of the organisation, which plays a crucial role in India’s railway infrastructure.
An accomplished professional in the transport and infrastructure sector, Gupta brings with him a wealth of experience. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from LD College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, an M.Tech in Building Technology and Construction Management from IIT Madras, and an MBA in Finance from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS).
Gupta previously served as the Chief General Manager at the Construction Corporation of India Limited between March 2018 and July 2022. Since July 2022, he has been serving as the Chief Passenger Transportation Manager in Indian Railways.
Konkan Railway Corporation Limited is a public sector undertaking under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways. Headquartered at CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai, KRCL operates the Konkan Railway route, which connects the coastal districts of Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka.
Gupta’s appointment is expected to further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of KRCL’s operations and commercial initiatives.
