Bengaluru: In a notable bureaucratic reshuffle, the Karnataka government has issued transfer and posting orders for five senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. According to the official notification, IPS KV Sharath Chandra (1997 batch), previously serving as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Recruitment, has now been appointed ADGP & Principal Secretary to Government (PCAS), Bengaluru.Â
Additionally, Chandra has also been given concurrent charges of ADGP & CMD, Karnataka State Police Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd., Bengaluru.
The list of other transfers includes
- IPS R. Hithendra (1996 batch), currently ADGP, Law & Order, has been given additional charge as the ADGP of Traffic and Road Safety.
- IPS S. Murugan (1997 batch), presently serving as ADGP, Communication, Logistics, and Modernization, has been given additional charge as ADGP, Recruitment.Â
- IPS Hemant M. Nimbalkar (1998 batch), previously ADGP, Intelligence, has taken charge as the ADGP & Commissioner, Department of Information and Public Relations, Bengaluru.
- IPS Ravi S. (1998 batch), previously serving as ADGP & Principal Secretary to Government (PCAS), has been appointed ADGP, Intelligence
The reshuffle is seen as a strategic move to bolster the state’s law enforcement and administrative framework, reinforcing capabilities in policing, intelligence, public relations, and infrastructure modernization to deliver more effective, technology-driven, and transparent governance.
