Kolkata: The West Bengal PWD department has launched a WhatsApp number to formally report a complaint about any road maintained by the PWD across the state.
The complainant needs to upload a picture of the road with the name on the WhatsApp number 9088822111.
Within 48 hours, the PWD department will patch up the concerned roads. There will be special attention on these roads, especially at the onset of the rainy season.
As per PWD Minister Pulak Roy, a book has been published with all the information about PWD roads district-wise across the state. The report contains details on the development done on each road.
Roads are being built and developed across the state. The health of the bridges is checked four times a year.
More than 32,900 km of roads have been built across the state. In addition, 305 bridges and 19 rail overbridges have also been constructed.
Another 600 bridges have undergone repair and reconstruction. A total of Rs 48,550 crore has been sanctioned for all these
