Itanagar: Yalem Taga Burang has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women.
This was part of the Arunachal government’s mission to reconstitute the State Women Commission.
Along with Yalem, the complete composition of the commission includes Tsering Dolma as vice chairperson and Kipa Kaya Rughu, Kotu Bui, Aben Mije, as well as Techi Nikhi Yab as members.
This was the commission’s seventh body and was announced by the Department of Women and Child Development.
The notification was in accordance with Section 5(1) of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) Act, 2002 and its subsequent amendment in 2005.
This act, along with the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (Service Conditions and Tenure of Chairperson and Members) Rules 2004, will govern the duties, powers and service conditions of the commission.
