Aizawl: The Mizoram government has officially launched the e-Office system across all departments in the state secretariat.
This initiative is expected to improve digital governance and streamline administrative processes in the state.
The e-office platform was introduced as a pilot on 18 April in four departments, including PWD and the School Education Department.
With the success of the pilot, the system has now been scaled up to cover all 41 departments in the Secretariat as well as the Chief Minister’s Office.
The Centre’s Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances sanctioned Rs 1.99 crore for this project under the State Collaborative Initiative Scheme.
To date, 6492 files have been created and processed through the e-office system. The Chief Minister, other ministers and bureaucrats are now using the platform remotely through VPN services.
This e-Office system will soon be extended to directorates and district offices. This will strengthen digital governance across the state.
The ICT Department is also upgrading the domains and hosting services for over 300 Mizoram government websites.
The transition from CtrlS Data Centre to Google Virtual Private Server (VPS) caused temporary inaccessibility of several websites. But 23 departmental websites have now been reactivated.
