Ranchi, September 9 (APAC Media): Jharkhand is set to roll out a major industrial policy push with new versions of its Industrial Investment Promotion Policy and Textile, Apparel and Footwear Policy, aimed at attracting Rs 1 lakh crore in investment and generating more than 25,000 employment opportunities.
The Industries Department has released draft policies and sought stakeholder feedback, with the final frameworks expected to be completed within the next fortnight.
The move marks a significant push to strengthen industrial investment, expand manufacturing and create employment across the state.
Major Incentives for New Investments
The proposed industrial framework offers investment-linked subsidies for MSMEs and larger businesses. MSMEs will be eligible for 20% of fixed capital investment, up to Rs 15 crore, while non-MSME units can receive 25%, capped at Rs 30 crore. SC, ST, women and differently-abled entrepreneurs will receive an additional 5% benefit.
The textile policy proposes a 20% subsidy on fixed capital investment, up to Rs 50 crore, with additional incentives for footwear and technical textile projects.
The package also includes 100% SGST reimbursement for seven years, followed by 40% for three years, along with electricity tariff and tax reimbursements and full reimbursement of stamp duty and registration charges.
Jobs and Regional Industrial Development
Employment generation is a key focus, with proposed wage support of Rs 5,000 per month for male and Rs 6,000 for female employees. Additional support has been proposed for SC/ST and differently-abled workers and employment in backward Zone-3 districts.
The policy framework also provides training assistance of up to Rs 13,000 per trainee and special industrial development measures for Santhal Pargana.
The initiatives will be aligned with central programmes including PM MITRA, PLI, SAMARTH and the National Technical Textiles Mission, positioning Jharkhand for a broader industrial and manufacturing expansion.
