New Delhi: REA Group has named Praveen Sharma as the new Chief Executive Officer of REA India, marking a key leadership change as the company looks to sharpen its focus on India’s competitive property technology market.
Sharma, who takes charge in July, will be based in Gurugram and work alongside current CEO Dhruv Agarwala to oversee a smooth transition. His appointment comes at a time when REA India is navigating a rapidly evolving real estate sector shaped by increased digital adoption and demand for tech-driven property solutions.
With over two decades of experience, Sharma has held senior roles across tech and media firms in India and the Asia-Pacific region. He most recently served at Paytm, where he led verticals including Ads, Online Payments, and Commerce Services. His earlier stint at Google included the role of Regional Director – Performance Media for APAC, managing and product strategies across the region.
REA Group’s decision to onboard Sharma reflects its intention to expand its digital and product capabilities in India. With several players in the Indian proptech space competing for user attention, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, the company appears to be betting on Sharma’s background in digital media and advertising to steer growth.
REA Group CEO Owen Wilson said the appointment aims to strengthen REA India’s leadership team and align its strategy with broader regional goals.
