New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has revised passenger fares with effect from August 25, 2025, raising ticket prices across its network. The increase ranges between Rs 1 and Rs 4 depending on the travel distance, while fares on the Airport Express Line have gone up by up to Rs 5.
Under the new structure, the minimum fare for the shortest journey of 0–2 km has been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 11. The maximum fare for travel beyond 32 km now stands at Rs 64, compared to the earlier Rs 60. On Sundays and national holidays, the revised fare begins at Rs 11 and extends up to Rs 54, against the previous range of Rs 10 to Rs 50. For passengers using the Airport Express Line, often considered the premium service connecting the city to the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the hike is up to Rs 5, depending on distance travelled.
The fare adjustment comes as the Delhi Metro continues to carry millions of passengers daily, serving as the backbone of public transport in the National Capital Region. While DMRC has termed the increase “minimal,” the impact is likely to be felt most by regular commuters, including office workers, students, and daily wage earners who rely on the service for affordable connectivity.
In a statement on X, DMRC confirmed the revision and said it applies uniformly across weekdays and holidays. The move marks the latest in a series of fare adjustments undertaken to sustain operations and maintain infrastructure costs.
