New Delhi, Apr 22 (APAC Media): The Ministry of Jal Shakti will host the 9th edition of India International Water Week (IIWW-2026) from September 22 to 26, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam.
The event will revolve around the theme “Climate Resilient Water Management,” highlighting the growing need for sustainable and adaptive water practices.
The event was officially launched by Union Minister C. R. Patil at Shram Shakti Bhavan in New Delhi, where he also unveiled the event brochure and launched the official website. Senior officials present included V. L. Kantha Rao, Ashok K. K. Meena, Baleshwar Thakur, Anupam Prasad, and Archana Varma, representing key departments and agencies in the water sector.
In his address, Patil said the upcoming conference will bring together global experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to exchange ideas and best practices in water management. The five-day event will feature a wide range of sessions, including ministerial and global plenaries, thematic discussions, and forums for practitioners, youth, and startups. Key themes will cover water governance, climate risks, technology, sustainable resource management, and innovative financing models.
Around 150 countries have been invited to participate, with 11 expected as partner nations. The event will also see participation from central ministries, states, international organizations, NGOs, and industry representatives.
A major exhibition at Bharat Mandapam will showcase innovations and offer business opportunities, while the final day will include field visits. The Second International WASH Conference will also be held alongside the event.
Overall, IIWW-2026 is expected to serve as a global platform to address pressing water challenges and promote collaborative solutions for a sustainable future.
