Kolkata: The West Bengal government will set up two supercritical 800 MW power plants in Salboni in Jhargram.
These two plants would attract an investment of Rs 10,000 crore and will be operated on a Public-Private-Partnership model.
In addition, the JSW Group is already setting up two 800 MW supercritical power plants. The 660 MW supercritical plant at Sagardighi is also getting ready.
Another 1600 MW plant was launched in Salboni a few months back.
Thr state had spent Rs 76,000 crore on power infrastructure that included generation, transmission and distribution since 2011.
It had built 3.5 lakh km of power line and 750 substations. The state plans to spend another Rs 48,000 crore in future on power infrastructure.
