Assam Govt Promotes Seven IAS Officers to Super Time Scale; IAS Narayan Konwar Made Commissioner & Secy, Higher Education Department

Dispur: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Assam government has promoted seven Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to the Super Time Scale at Level 14. Five IAS officers from the 2010 batch have been promoted with consequential postings in important departments. Among these, IAS Narayan Konwar has been appointed Commissioner and Secretary, Higher Education and School Education Departments.

Konwar will continue as Registrar, Cooperative Societies; Managing Director, RUSA; and Director, Official Language Implementation, Assam.

Other promoted officers include

• IAS Binita Pegu: Posted as Commissioner and Secretary, Tribal Affairs (Plain) and Social Justice and Empowerment Departments, with additional charge as State Enquiry Officer, Assam

• IAS Partha Pratim Majumdar: Posted as Commissioner and Secretary, Home and Political and Women and Child Development Departments. He will continue as State Coordinator, NRC, Assam; in-charge Director, NRC; and CEO, e-FT Project, Assam

• IAS Nandita Dutta: Posted as Commissioner and Secretary, Information Technology Department

• IAS Rituraj Bora: Posted as Commissioner and Secretary, Soil Conservation Department

Two officers from the 2010 Regular Recruitment (RR) batch, who are currently on central deputation, have been granted proforma promotion to the Super Time Scale. These include:

• IAS Smti Laya Madduri: Currently on central deputation

• IAS Dr Karuna Kumari: Currently on central deputation

The promotions are expected to enhance administrative capacity at the senior level and ensure smoother coordination across departments.
