MP Govt Elevates IAS M. Selvendran to the role of Principal Secretary, GAD

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has promoted senior IAS M. Selvendran to the post of Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department (GAD).

He was serving as Secretary in GAD before his elevation. The promotion recognises his seniority and long administrative experience within the state government.

M. Selvendran has held several important positions during his career in Madhya Pradesh. He previously served as Secretary (Personnel) in the General Administration Department, a role that placed him at the centre of administrative decisions. He also worked as Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, where he handled policy and administrative matters linked to the farming sector.

In addition to his regular responsibilities, Selvendran held the additional charge of Additional Secretary in the General Administration Department around September 2024. In mid-2025, he was transferred back to the post of Secretary, Personnel, GAD.

His elevation to Principal Secretary is expected to strengthen administrative coordination and improve decision-making at the senior level of the state bureaucracy.
