Lucknow:Â The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that the proposed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zone will be developed as an integrated hub for training, skill development, employment, and entrepreneurship.
The project was announced on Uttar Pradesh Day and is aimed at directly linking industrial development with job creation across the state.
Land Identification Directed in All Districts
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to promptly identify suitable land in all districts for the project. The state government said the initiative will be implemented based on local needs and regional industrial potential. Each district will have an Employment and Industrial Zone developed over a minimum area of 50 acres, with implementation planned in a phased manner.
Single-Campus Model for Skills and Employment
The chief minister has stated that the state’s industrial policy focuses on creating an enabling ecosystem where youth can access skill development, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities within a single campus. The proposed zones are expected to bring together multiple departments and services at one location, making it easier for entrepreneurs and job seekers to access support.
According to the government, the project will serve as a major step towards providing integrated facilities related to industry, skill development, employment, self-employment and industrial support.
Focus on MSMEs and Innovation-Led Sectors
Special emphasis will be placed on promoting micro, small and medium enterprises, service-based industries and innovation-driven sectors. The zones will feature modern infrastructure such as plug-and-play units and flatted factories, allowing entrepreneurs to begin operations with minimal initial investment and procedural delays.
Common Facilities and Training Support
Officials said the project will include common facility centres, testing and certification facilities, display and design centres, tool rooms, effluent treatment plants, and industrial infrastructure such as plug-and-play units and flatted factories.
The zones will also host entrepreneurship training programmes, mentoring and handholding support. Information on various loan schemes will be disseminated to help youth upgrade skills and pursue self-employment opportunities.
Employment-Oriented Operational Model
According to the state government, the operational model will provide for self-employment and entrepreneurship training, skill development programmes, internships, apprenticeships, and wage-based employment linked to industries operating within or around the zones.
The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zone is expected to emerge as a strong hub for employment, skills, and entrepreneurship for the youth of Uttar Pradesh.
