New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RailTel Corporation of India Limited to collaborate on the development of digital infrastructure across India.Â
The partnership aims to combine the strengths of both organisations in network infrastructure and technology to support the country’s expanding digital ecosystem.
The agreement was signed by S. S. Agrawal, Executive Director (O&M-CO) at GAIL, and J. S. Marwah, Company Secretary and General Manager (Law) at RailTel. The signing ceremony was attended by Rajeev Kumar Singhal, Director (Business Development) at GAIL, and Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel, along with senior officials from both organisations.
Focus on Energy and Digital Integration
GAIL Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Gupta said the partnership aligns with the company’s long-term strategy of integrating energy infrastructure with digital technologies. He noted that the collaboration supports the vision of combining energy systems with digital infrastructure while leveraging emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence to support India’s development.
Expanding Reliable Communication Networks
RailTel CMD Sanjai Kumar highlighted the company’s commitment to strengthening India’s digital backbone through secure and reliable communication networks. He said the partnership with GAIL would help both organisations combine their infrastructure capabilities and technical expertise to accelerate the expansion of dependable digital connectivity across the country.
Strategic Objectives
Under the MoU, the two companies will focus on several key objectives, including strengthening India’s communication infrastructure and improving the utilisation of resources between the organisations. The collaboration also aims to expand secure and reliable digital connectivity while supporting the rapid growth of India’s digital ecosystem.
Through this strategic partnership, GAIL and RailTel plan to contribute to the expansion of India’s digital infrastructure, which is increasingly important for future technologies such as artificial intelligence, data networks, and smart services.
