Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the fifth edition of the herSTART programme for women entrepreneurs and inaugurated a newly built research park at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad.
The event marked a renewed push by the state government to strengthen women-led development and innovation-driven growth.
Push for Women-Led Development
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister stated that Gujarat remains committed to advancing the vision of women-led development. He said the state aims to expand women’s participation in innovation and entrepreneurship through initiatives such as herSTART, which is run by the Gujarat University Startup and Entrepreneurship Council.
The herSTART programme offers incubation, mentorship, and market access support to women-led startups. Its fifth edition was launched as part of a set of initiatives described by organisers as a “development triveni.”
The Chief Minister noted that India’s startup ecosystem has witnessed remarkable growth since the launch of Startup India. He also stated that India now ranks among the leading nations in funding support for women-led startups.
