Hyderabad, Apr 8 (APAC Media): Green India Challenge founder and former Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar has been nominated for the prestigious Global Green Icon Award at the forthcoming World Leaders Conclave and Awards.
The award will be presented to him at the House of Lords, British Parliament on April 17. The Conclave recognises individuals and efforts driving impact in sustainability, climate action, and inclusive growth.
Santosh Kumar, who also happens to be the Chairman of Igniting Minds Organisation (IMO), has been at the forefront of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging citizen participation through large-scale plantation drives and sustainability campaigns. His major initiative, the Green India Challenge, along with the ‘Hara Hai Toh Bhara Hai’ movement, has motivated millions of individuals across the country to actively engage in afforestation and eco-friendly practices.
IMO is a non-profit body inspired by the vision of former President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Through collaborations with various institutions and grassroots stakeholders, IMO has made significant contributions towards enhancing green cover and promoting sustainable practices.
