Noida, June 9 (APAC Media): Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty opened higher on Tuesday, recovering from the previous session’s losses as investors tracked stabilising global cues and renewed buying in banking and financial stocks.
The BSE Sensex gained over 350 points in early trade, while the NSE Nifty 50 reclaimed the 23,200 level, supported by broad-based buying across sectors. The advance came after a volatile session on Monday, when benchmarks had fallen amid concerns over geopolitical tensions in West Asia, rising crude oil prices, and weak global risk sentiment.
Market participants said the early recovery was driven by bargain buying at lower levels, led by large-cap banking, financial services, and select index-heavy stocks.
Broader markets also strengthened, with mid-cap and small-cap indices trading in positive territory, signalling improved risk appetite among investors.

Sentiment was supported by a mild stabilisation in global equities after recent weakness, along with a slight easing in crude oil prices from elevated levels.
However, analysts cautioned that volatility is likely to persist in the near term amid uncertainty over global macroeconomic conditions and foreign portfolio flows.
Among sectoral indices, banking stocks led the gains, followed by financial services and select consumer stocks. Export-orientated and commodity-linked counters traded mixed as investors continued to evaluate the global demand outlook and currency movements.
Market experts said the Nifty is trading near a key technical support zone, with the 23,000–23,300 range seen as crucial for near-term direction. They added that sustained trade above these levels could extend the recovery, while failure to hold gains may trigger fresh selling pressure.
Foreign institutional investor activity and crude oil price movements remained key triggers for market direction, traders said.
Overall, Indian equities staged a cautious rebound in early trade, with buying interest returning after Monday’s decline, though analysts added that confirmation of a sustained uptrend would depend on global stability and fresh domestic triggers.
Wipro Buyback
Wipro on Tuesday announced that its ₹15,000-crore share buyback programme will open on June 11 and close on June 17, 2026.
This is the company’s first buyback in nearly three years. Earlier, the board had approved a plan to repurchase up to 60 crore equity shares, representing 5.7% of its paid-up capital, with the overall buyback value capped at ₹15,000 crore.
