New Delhi, July 2(APAC Media): India’s cloud infrastructure landscape has gained a new domestic option with the launch of Swaraj Cloud by ESDS Software Solutions. The platform has been introduced as an AI-enabled sovereign cloud that operates entirely on infrastructure owned and managed in India.

The launch comes at a time when organisations in banking, government, healthcare and other regulated sectors are facing stricter compliance requirements around data storage and processing under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act. ESDS said Swaraj Cloud is built on its own physical servers and Tier III-certified data centres in India, with workloads designed to remain within Indian legal jurisdiction.
The company said the platform combines cloud computing, AI capabilities, cybersecurity tools and developer services while ensuring data residency within India. It is intended for enterprises and public sector organisations that want to reduce dependence on cloud infrastructure governed by foreign laws.

ESDS also pointed to India’s growing digital economy, noting that a significant share of enterprise workloads continues to run on foreign cloud infrastructure. The company believes demand for sovereign cloud services is expected to increase as organisations prioritise regulatory compliance, data governance and local infrastructure.
Commenting on the launch, ESDS Software Solutions Chairman and Managing Director Piyush Somani said India needs greater control over its cloud, AI, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure to support its long-term digital strategy. The company said it owns and operates the servers, storage systems and networks supporting Swaraj Cloud, with data processing designed to remain within Indian borders.
