Weaker-than-expected US employment data offered support to bullion prices, but a stronger US dollar made gold more expensive for buyers holding other currencies, triggering profit booking and short-term selling.
Market participants said the broader outlook for gold remains constructive despite the recent correction, supported by expectations of policy easing, persistent geopolitical risks and continued central bank purchases.
