Noida, July 9 (APAC Media): Indian equity benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty recovered on Thursday after a sharp decline in the previous trading session, with the Sensex rising more than 200 points and the Nifty 50 closing in positive territory.
The rebound was driven by buying in select sectors and renewed investor interest in beaten-down stocks, lifting overall market sentiment.
The BSE Sensex ended the session at 76,741.82, gaining 238 points, or 0.31 per cent. The Nifty 50 settled at 23,962.80, adding 81 points, or 0.34 per cent.

The recovery came after investors stepped in for value buying following the recent market weakness. Market participants said the rebound reflected bargain hunting, although concerns over global developments and external risks continued to limit gains.
Broader markets witnessed stronger momentum compared with benchmark indices. The Nifty Midcap 100 index advanced 1.38 per cent, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index surged 1.80 per cent, indicating increased participation from investors in smaller companies.
The rise in equity prices boosted investor wealth significantly during the session.
The combined market capitalization of BSE-listed companies increased to around ₹476.4 lakh crore, compared with nearly ₹471.2 lakh crore in the previous session.

Sector-wise movement remained mixed, with buying interest emerging in several key segments, while investors continued to monitor global cues, crude oil price movements, and geopolitical developments.
Market sentiment remained cautious as participants assessed the impact of international events on domestic equities.
Analysts said the market’s near-term direction would depend on upcoming corporate earnings, foreign investor activity, domestic economic data, and global market trends.
While the recovery provided some relief to investors, experts warned that volatility could remain elevated amid uncertain global conditions.
The Indian stock market has witnessed fluctuations in recent sessions as investors balance concerns over global risks with optimism surrounding domestic economic growth and corporate performance.
Market participants are now looking ahead to fresh triggers, including quarterly earnings announcements and policy developments, for further direction in the coming trading sessions.
