Chitrakoot, July 9 (APAC Media): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 124 development projects worth ₹951 crore in Chitrakoot.
The projects span roads, bridges, education, tourism, sports and public infrastructure.
During the event, the Chief Minister also announced that Chitrakoot will soon get direct air connectivity with Delhi and Lucknow, improving access for tourists, pilgrims and residents.
₹394 Crore Projects Inaugurated, ₹556 Crore Worth of New Works Launched
CM Yogi inaugurated completed projects worth ₹394.70 crore. He also laid the foundation stone for new projects worth ₹556.18 crore.
Major completed works include:
- Development projects worth ₹180.62 crore in the Chitrakoot Sadar Assembly constituency.
- Development projects worth ₹214.07 crore in the Manikpur region.
- A junior high school for children with disabilities at Naveen Sanket, Manikpur.
- A ₹144 crore bridge over the Yamuna River connecting Mau and Mawai in Kaushambi.
- A new Saradhua police station building.
- A Rurban Entrepreneurship Training and Development Centre.
The newly announced projects include road widening, bridge construction, tourism facilities and sports infrastructure.
Chitrakoot to Get Better Connectivity
The Chief Minister said direct flights connecting Chitrakoot with Delhi and Lucknow will begin soon.
He said the government is working to improve regional connectivity and develop Chitrakoot as a major religious tourism destination.
Upcoming projects include:
- Widening of the Karvi–Budha Semarwar–Rajapur road.
- Construction of the Ramayan Darshan Centre on Parikrama Marg.
- A bridge over the Gunta River.
- Repair of six bridges and culverts.
- A synthetic running track at the sports stadium.
Defence Corridor to Create Jobs
Highlighting the Defence Manufacturing Corridor, CM Yogi said Chitrakoot is emerging as a hub for defence production and industrial investment.
He said new investments are expected to generate employment and strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s role in India’s defence manufacturing sector.
Religious Tourism Gets a Major Push
Calling Chitrakoot a land of immense spiritual significance, the Chief Minister said the government is developing key religious sites linked to Lord Ram, Maharishi Valmiki and Goswami Tulsidas.
The government is also promoting eco-tourism through the Ranipur Tiger Reserve to attract more visitors and create new livelihood opportunities.
Focus on Growth and Welfare
CM Yogi said the Bundelkhand Expressway has improved connectivity and accelerated development across the region.
He also highlighted welfare initiatives, including free ration, housing, electricity connections, LPG connections and health insurance under Ayushman Bharat.
The event was attended by several ministers, legislators and senior officials, including Minister of State for Public Works Kunwar Brijesh Singh.
With major infrastructure projects, improved connectivity and a growing focus on tourism and industry, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to position Chitrakoot as one of the state’s key growth centres.
