New Hyundai Creta Renders Hint At 2027 Design And Hybrid

Summarize with:
New Delhi, August 8(APAC Media): Fresh digital renders have offered a possible look at Hyundai’s next-generation Creta, which is expected to arrive in India in 2027.

The renders are unofficial and should not be treated as production images. However, they come as Hyundai works on the third-generation Creta, which has already been spotted testing in India. The new model is expected to carry the SX3 codename and could bring major changes to the SUV’s design and powertrain strategy.

The rendered SUV gets a redesigned front end with pixel-style LED lighting, vertically positioned headlamps, a wider grille and a more upright profile. The rear is shown with connected LED lighting, while the side design features sharper body lines, larger wheel arches and flush-style door handles.

These elements broadly fit with the design direction seen in recent Hyundai models, but the final production Creta could look different.

The bigger change could come under the bonnet. Hyundai is expected to introduce a hybrid version of the next-generation Creta in India. Reports indicate that the company could use a hybridised version of the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.

The next Creta is also expected to retain petrol options, while the future of the diesel engine remains subject to Hyundai’s product strategy and regulatory requirements.

A hybrid Creta would put Hyundai directly against models such as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which already offer strong-hybrid technology.

The third-generation Creta is expected to move to Hyundai-Kia’s newer K3 architecture. The platform change could bring updates to cabin space, safety, driving dynamics and compatibility with electrified powertrains.

The cabin is also expected to receive a major redesign, with newer digital displays, connected-car functions, improved driver assistance technology and additional safety features likely to form part of the package.

Hyundai has not yet officially revealed the final design or complete specifications of the next-generation Creta. The India launch is currently expected in 2027, with more information likely to emerge as testing progresses.
