Mumbai, August 10 (APAC Media): The National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC) has signed an MoU with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to strengthen cybersecurity and digital forensics capabilities across Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs).
The MoU was exchanged during the ‘Sahkar Nav-Kranti’ programme in Mumbai.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said banks and customers need forensic science expertise to remain secure amid the growing use of online banking.
Shah highlighted NFSU’s expertise in cybersecurity and digital forensics, saying the partnership will allow even smaller UCBs to access such facilities at affordable costs.
Under the partnership, cybersecurity services, digital forensics, employee training and research facilities will be integrated through NUCFDC’s ‘Bank in a Box’ platform.
The initiative will also support UCBs through a newly launched Security Operations Centre (SOC), offering round-the-clock cyber monitoring, immediate guidance and security support.
Shah urged all UCBs to join the initiative and strengthen their protection against emerging digital threats.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Ministers of State Krishan Pal Gurjar and Murlidhar Mohol, along with other dignitaries, attended the programme.
