New Delhi, September 17 (APAC Media): The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with InD Events Dubai aimed at expanding market access for Indian food exporters and connecting businesses with international buyers.
The initiative will focus on strengthening opportunities for Indian agri-food businesses, particularly smaller and emerging exporters, while supporting greater access to overseas markets.
MSMEs, FPOs and Women-Led Exporters in Focus
The initiative will seek to increase representation of smaller businesses and producer groups, including:
- Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)
- Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs)
- Startups
- Women-led exporters
- SC/ST-led exporters
The focus is intended to provide these businesses and producers with greater exposure to international buyers and export markets.
Dubai to Open Access to Wider Regional Markets
The partnership is also linked to India’s broader trade engagement with the UAE under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
According to the government, Dubai’s position as a major business hub can help Indian food exporters connect with buyers across the GCC, wider Middle East and Africa.
Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said India’s continued engagement in international markets reflects growing global recognition of the country’s agri-food sector and provides exporters with an expanded platform for market access.
