New Delhi : Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu expressed his happiness as government has approved the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. In a series of tweets on Friday, he said that the vision of new education policy is truly global and essentially Indian.
The policy’s emphasis on mother tongue and multilingualism, for diversity and respect for the local context as well as a recognition of the importance of India’s classical languages and it will give learners a holistic world view, expressed Vice President.
‘Setting up a National Mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy is a much needed, timely step to improve the quality of education at the primary level,’ said Naidu.
Recently, after 34 years, union cabinet has approved the National Education Policy.
