New Delhi: The need of the hour is water audit and proper system has to be in place. This was stated by industry veteran Sushil Agarwal, MD of TCIPL. He was speaking in a panel discussion recently in virtual ‘Global Water Management Conclave’ organised by APAC News Network and Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
‘While water supply is being fairly attained, are they readily usable? Till date, we do not use tap water for drinking and use water purifiers. Water infrastructure is a huge area and has immense scope to work on,’ said Sushil.
Highlighting problems of water Infrastructure companies, he further added, ‘as water infrastructure company, we face a lot of challenges in terms of tendering and DPR. There should be standard operating procedure for preparing DPRs and tendering processes. Digitisation, SCADA and latest technology should be utilised properly. The availability and dissemination of data should be there as well.’
TCIPL MD also stated that, ‘we don’t have a system of Water Audit and it must be implemented. Customer care and grievance redressal system can be made easier by using Artificial Intelligence Chat Bots.’
